Feathered Friends

This yellow-rumped warbler enjoyed a stay along our creek in early May,
And so did this Bullock's Oriole.
Mr. and Mrs. Red-Winged Blackbird have taken up permanent residence and have built a nest in the cattails.
These doves appear to be hanging out as a pair. Maybe they have built a nest, too.

  1. Gorgeous, Janie. Love seeing your Utah birds.... Love that yellow-rumped warbler.... I saw one one year here in the winter --in his winter colors... Very different.

Have a fabulous Memorial Day Weekend.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

I've been watching the Lucy's Warblers, Steller Jays and lots of Ravens.

  4. For so so long I've associated orioles with the baseball team of a city on the east coast. Just this year -- can you believe that -- I've finally noticed the actual bird of that name. I love your photo of the lovely Bullock Oriole. Mr. Red-Winged Blackbird is certainly dashing, isn't he. And something about doves is just so calming. Thank you, Janie, for these lovely shots. Oh, and what a magnificent banner! Great catch!

  6. Since you've got both birds and blooms, I know spring is with you to stay. Love the new Header, too!

  7. I'm a Baltimore Oriole fan, so its fun to see an ornithological correct bird in real life, not just on a baseball cap.

  9. Such gorgeously coloured birds. We normally have collared doves in the garden but have only seen them passing through this year:-(
