It's still spring at 6000 feet in Mount Rainier National Park. The snow in the meadows probably didn't melt until a month ago, since snowbanks still remain on some parts of the trail.
love the flowers...
ReplyDeleteOh wow! They are all so pretty. I especially enjoy the bear grass.
ReplyDeleteFun to compare your home turf to a similar alpine environment. I find the same with the swamps, too.
ReplyDeletethose are some pretty nice looking wildflower shots. Also a nice shot of Mount Rainier.
ReplyDeleteA lovely display of wildflowers Janie, thank you. Also loved the Mount Rainier shot.
ReplyDeleteNot only do you take wonderful flower photos, but you know all the names too. Very impressive.
ReplyDeleteI know this post is about the flora on Mount Rainier, and the flowers are indeed beautiful. But your first picture of the mountain is simply fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of you that you know the plants.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, the top one of Mt Rainier looks like a dream...and BTW, congrats on having such a smart son!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot of the mountain and low, low clouds. Really nice photo.
ReplyDeleteThe Bear Grass is so unusual! And three of of the flowers seem like spring flowers to me: pasquef lower, avalanche lily, and shooting stars.
Beautiful plants, most of them are new to me. The Bear Grass is quite unusual. Lovely pics!
ReplyDeleteNeat wildflowers, Janie... Isn't it interesting how we see so many different types of flowers in different locations...
ReplyDeleteThat first picture is awesome. WOW!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
That Shooting Star is spectacular! It seems late for the Pasqueflower - must have been a wet summer. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteNice work. I was in Seattle for almost a week and everyone kept saying - have you seen Mount Rainier?
ReplyDeleteI hadn't. Then one day the clouds cleared and there it was as big as life itself.
Amazing. Your photo is stunning.
Your first shot is magnificent, the mountain with its wreath of cloud.
ReplyDeleteThere are some very pretty plants, too. I like Bear Grass - I have always wondered what it looked like!
Nice shots of the flora, but the first picture is stunning.
ReplyDeleteI love your photos, especially the first 3. Stellar. Beautiful mountain and beautiful wildflowers.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so pretty...I especially love the shooting star!!
ReplyDeleteIf i'd only seen the picture of the bear grass, I'd have thought: Mt Rainier!

Really beautiful and thanks so much for sharing. Certainly unlike anything you see in Southern California.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! It looks like they are going to skip right over having a summer season there.
