Our Guide

Daisy likes nothing more than being out in the mountains, chasing the scent of ... something.  Anything.
Her nose twitches as she checks out all the odors in the air.
Then she puts her nose to the ground, and she's in doggie heaven.  Often she's following our own trail, leading us back home.  Seeing Daisy at work, I'm not surprised that labrador retrievers are often trained as search and rescue dogs.  Her nose knows!

Just Friends

Is anybody looking?

No?
Then how about a head scratch?
Or even a hug.

Oops, somebody's looking after all. Act casual. Pretend that cuddly moment never happened.

Taming Miss Daisy

Daisy always starts out as fresh as... well, a daisy.
But there's so much to do on a trail. She must follow the scents of deer and elk. (We discourage her from actually chasing the animals, although they would leave her behind in short order anyway.)
She must swim, of course,

And aid in navigation,
After a few rolls in the dust, she's looking a little less fresh.
Until, by the end of a day, even our wild Daisy is tame enough to enjoy a rest.

Anticipation

Good old Daisy, always ready to help.
Always anticipating fun.

Rested and Ready

Daisy may look like a prim and proper lady, but ...
She's always ready for play.
She can run all day with the horses,
outhike any human I know,
and still be able and willing to lead the way home, following the scent trail with more accuracy than a GPS trackback.
But when the day is done and it's too dark to play, she doesn't mind taking some time to recharge her batteries.

Quality Time

Janie: "No, Daisy, I can't come down and play with you right now. Maybe we can find a nice horse trough for you to swim in."

Daisy: "Success! Now if I can just locate a rabbit to chase."
