Yesterday, we rode up Little Mountain (trailhead about 30 minutes from home). I forgot the camera, and the snow on the trail became too deep to continue at about 8000 feet elevation. (The top is 8500 feet.) However, we did manage a 12 mile, 2200 foot elevation gain and loss ride.
The photo above, a rare one of both of us and our horses in one shot, was taken in early May, 2008 on this same mountain. I thought there were 4 of us in the photo, and then I looked more closely and noticed Daisy's head at my side...
And so it goes in my Utah world.

That Daisy is a ham. Nice shot of everyone.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the positive comment.
Aw, cute picture, I like how Daisy snuggled herself in there. The horses both look quite noble and pretty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! You should borrow one of our fillies for a ride. It's a lot of fun! Unfortunately, we can't bring two loose at the same time, as they are independent enough to head out on their own adventures! How old are your horses?
ReplyDeleteAs if she would let you forget her! ;)
ReplyDeleteyes!!!A closer look is needed to figure out the fifth one:)
ReplyDeleteat first I though you are referring the mountains as the fifth companion:P
I wish hubby and I can visit places like this. You are so blessed!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful picture. Daisy just didn't want to be left out.
ReplyDeleteLove that picture of the four (oops--I mean FIVE) of you... Don't know what you all would do on your trips --if Daisy weren't along to be in charge!!!! ha
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
Four, five? It's all fun. And a spectacular sky for a ride!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of all of you and that Daisy is a cutie! Those doggie friends to manage to get into the photos, don't they? Thanks for sharing a lovely pic of your world!
ReplyDeleteForgive me if I've mentioned this before, but I grew up surrounded by mountains, so I know how blessed both of you are.
ReplyDeleteDaisy wouldn't let a photo op pass by. Now that's a photobloggers pet right there.
ReplyDeletenice shot! i always want to do a trail walk!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't realize the dog was along for the ride? Must be one seriously low maintenance dog your Daisy! I'd never have to worry about where Tonka was. He's Velcro dog.
ReplyDeleteYour world is gorgeous.
That's a beautfiful shot, I'd love to go on a hike there (can't ride)
ReplyDeleteAll of you are great. Excellent post!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying this journey with you.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot. What a beautiful place you have for riding.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, what a wonderful area you have to ride in. I had to see the photo enlarged to see Daisy.
ReplyDeleteA little ham in the mountains. Now have a great St. Patrick's Day Tuesday. Top of the Mornin' or top of the Mountain to you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo of the 5 of you it looks like a wonderful place to ride.
ReplyDeleteJust feels me with a sense of well being.
ReplyDeleteTrue, Daisy sort of snuck in there. It took me a while to find her. We run into same problem with photos with family. I'm usually the one taking them, and catch as catch can ...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo! You have horses + a dog, best friends of human beings!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo of your "family"! Thank you for sharing your world.
ReplyDeleteSmiles
Very nice picture. Horses, and people to ride them, up in the mountains. Perfect.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing like being in the great outdoors on horseback! Lucky you two.

ReplyDeleteThe horses are a beauty..
So glad you had a picture of a previous trip to that mountain to share with us. Beautiful countryside.
