Craggy peaks loom over the split in the mountain.
Yesterday we rode in Tabby Mountain Wildlife Management Area. The above photo looks down on Red Creek Reservoir.
Yes, that's a golden eagle soaring over a scampering deer herd.
It's tough to get a good photo of a soaring eagle, especially while on horseback, but this time, we got one! The white in his tail feathers indicates it is a subadult.
what a beautiful day and adventure...
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize Daisy was such a good fisherwoman. Has she given Steve any tips? You got a great picture of the eagle. You've certainly traveled some beautiful trails recently. Thanks for taking us along.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for taking such a fine photo of the golden eagle. Isn't Daisy something? She's so clever she can even catch trout!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely breath taking photos! I would love to see that in person someday!
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
Beautiful place... Seeing that picture of you all looking down on the Green River reminded me of our recent trip on Skyline Drive in the Blue Ridge Mtns.--while looking down at the Shenandoah River...
ReplyDeleteLove that EAGLE. WOW!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Wonderful photos of the Green River and the Eagle, Janie. I'm in AZ where the cacti are blooming. (I hear more snow is coming to CO tomorrow.) i'll take the desert for now!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots. I love all the critters and the golden eagle.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course Daisy fishing. I hope she has a license.
You ride in the most spectacular scenery and see the most amazing wildlife.
ReplyDeleteDaisy's a good fisherdog. Marvelous views in those green mountains. Where is all the snow?
ReplyDeleteDaisy is such a grand companion - she loves every activity, it seems!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving all the mountain views, and how spectacular to capture TWO photos of a Golden Eagle - very well done! :D

Nice catch there Daisy though I think Steve might have had something to do with it. I could never bring my Chesapeake Bay Retrievers along trout fishing because I couldn't keep them out of the water and spooking all the trout....:)

ReplyDeleteI think my Dad would have loved to catch Daisy's fish :) Loved the photos as always Janie, have a great week.
ReplyDeletewow, the Green River really earns its name in your shots. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great image of the eagle and I also love the craggy mountain peaks and green river views. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice day! Great eagle picture. Yay for Daisy! It looks much warmer there. Our ski lifts closed April 6, and really a lot of the snow has melted, so it was a little shocking to have 3 days of snowy weather again.
ReplyDeleteAn EAGLE!!! I love seeing them.
ReplyDeleteThe views are magnificent….so did Daisy really catch the trout?? She is something special.
You already know what I'm going to say - WOW! Love that country!
