Driving home through the San Rafael desert, we see a vast emptiness of sand. In the distance, the Henry Mountains peak above the horizon. Some person or animal forged a path across the dunes. If we had more time, we could follow and see where the trails lead.
Maybe next time? Those footprints will be gone but there will be others.
ReplyDeleteI love the way the wind leaves such beautiful designs in the sand.
ReplyDeleteLove the light, shadows and texture of the sand.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be fascinating to see where those footprints lead (or came from). Your picture of the sand dunes is marvelous, as is your header.
ReplyDeleteA shot like this always finds me gazing and making up a story. The light and ripples are wonderful as are the mystery tracks.
ReplyDeleteHow cool it would be to follow a track across the desert, where there is no foliage or water to cover them up - though I suppose wind could still make them disappear in the blink of an eye!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo of footprints in the sand... AND---even better is your header!! Awesome.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
A desert nomads comings and goings, no doubt.

ReplyDeleteHi there - thats a great image - I like the way my eye follows the footprints through the picture.
ReplyDeleteI hope to get to central Australia next winter - I feel like seeing some sand!

I would be scared to follow! It looks like the Primrose path- Desert style! In other words, it looks like the opening scene from the tv show "I Shouldn't Be Alive". That show always starts off with one unfortunate decision that snowballs! Very cool photo.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo!!
ReplyDeleteohh lucky you! I can play (and take pictures of) sand dunes all day long!
