We rode up to the top of Lake Mountain in mid-April. The first part of our trail was over hills with a few patches of snow remaining. Coco and Daisy enjoyed the sun. Between them, Marsh Peak rises in the background.
We saw a deer herd,
and a dozen or so elk. They were retreating over the hill by the time we got the camera in gear.
As we approached the 9000 ft summit, we trudged along a snowy forest trail.
Mischief and Daisy wanted to participate in Janie's lunch break.
Up top, Gull Lake was still frozen. We saw a coyote scamper along the shore. He didn't stay around long enough to have his picture taken.
Wonderful captures of your travels. The scenery is spectacular & I feel as tho we actually travelling with you.

Beautiful but oh it looks cold! What a lucky capture of the deer and elk. Great picture of Janie and Mischief by the lake. :-)
ReplyDeleteDang but that looks like a cold ride.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous ride that must have been, I'm envious Janie.
ReplyDeletePerfect name (Lake Mountain), Janie.... Looks like you all had a great trip... I'm sure that Daisy was thrilled to get to go too.
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the deer --since they were ALL looking at you.... ha... AND seeing the 'back' side of the elk was cute.
Thanks for sharing such beauty with us.
Hugs,
Betsy
I do enjoy seeing the beauty of the snowy scenes, Janie.
ReplyDeleteThe only white I see under my feet is sandy :)
We didn't have much snow here, so it's a pleasure to see these pictures of the snow-capped mountain and frozen lake.
ReplyDeleteWow, you guys are so extreme. Wonderful pics, great adventure.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is one great place. I love your adventures, you're taking me to places I have never been to and maybe never will be at :) Thanks for that!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, this is beautiful.
ReplyDeletenow that was a fun ride--so much diversity. And then to follow it up with a ride to the desert, what a contrast.
ReplyDeleteSo much beauty in nature...I love it. Cute shot of the elk butts. :)
