Western Blue


When we took our first trip west, back in 1974, we were amazed by the incredible deep blue of the skies here.

I must admit, we've never gotten over our amazement in just looking at that gorgeous color, but the vastness we've discovered as we explore Utah's public lands has been just as amazing.
These photos were taken on a hike near the Green River last week.

  5. some times we don't realize how much of our great land is sparsely settled...and that makes visiting all the different parts that make up our country exciting.

  12. It looks like a beautiful place, and your photos are lovely. The blue sky looks like it has a violet tint to it. Is that a trick of the camera or how it looks for real?

  19. Dontcha hate those contrails messing up a perfect blue bird sky? Oh well, you are so right about falling in love with this place. Most days, I wake up feeling like Georgia O'Keefe must have felt when she found herself in the amazing light of Taos...

    I like how you've captured the jet contrail, in the last one.. those people in that jet, just didn't realise what they were missing down below :-)
