Colors change a couple of weeks later at our home in the Uinta Basin (5100 ft, 1550 m) than they do in the highest mountains, where fall was in full glory by mid-September. Our home aspens, above, wear gold in mid-October.
The cottonwoods (above) and elm trees along the creek behind the house are changing now.
We've followed autumn as it marches down from the mountains. Up high, the first snow has already fallen.
Winter is nigh.

Janie: Beautiful captures of the sky and Fall colors.
ReplyDeleteFantastic. What a great eye you have for color and beauty. Some of our leaves froze while still green. They are an ugly brownish green. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like the contrast in the first photo.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely! Our fall colors in southern California arrive even later...more like mid-November (except in the mountains).
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall colours and that sky is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThe aspens, cottonwoods and elms are gorgeous under those sunny skies. Looking at these photos, it's hard to imagine that the first snow has fallen at higher altitudes. It hasn't snowed here yet, but a couple of hours north by car it has.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful autumn skies, and your fall header is a winner.
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful colors, Janie. And lovely clouds as a backdrop. Happy SWF!
ReplyDeleteGreat autumn photographs. I love this time of year.
ReplyDeleteYou have some beautiful fall colors there and gorgeous sky. Yes, winter is near but not just yet...
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful colors and Autumn scenes!
ReplyDeleteyour aspens are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYou have such beautiful big trees in your area. Can't wait to see the reds.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall foliage shots! Autumn is my favorite time of year. Your new header is also beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove those fall colors! I miss having pretty colored leaves in the fall. The area we live now has only rusty browns and almost black and this year it even worse than usual.
ReplyDeleteYour fall colors are so yummy. Loove the first image, great contrast.
ReplyDeleteI adore these pics, especially the first one. Wow.

Sold! I will take all of it, how much do you want?
ReplyDeleteWell let me rephrase that, I have a fifty in my pocket how much sky will that buy :)
Beautiful and awesome as always, Janie.

Awesome sky and the fall colors are beautiful, especially the yellows.
ReplyDeleteOh, Janie, He painted your trees with such beauty ... what an artist He is for this world. TY for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHave a warm wonderful eve. TTFN ~Marydon
What glorious Fall colors you've captured and shared ... the likes of which we never see here in Southern California. Thanks ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Your colors are stunning, to be sure. Very, very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThose gold colors are so gorgeous, especially against the blue sky!
ReplyDeleteI love the photos!
ReplyDeleteTake Care
Your fall colors are a gorgeous contrast to the blue skies. Love the new header. Guessing you've moved to a lower elevation. My current 5000 ft were sunny and in the mid 70s today.
ReplyDeleteJanie, wonderful colours and beautiful blue skies. Autumn is such a beautiful time of year. Thank you for sharing yours.
ReplyDeleteSmiles and blessings
gorgeous captures
ReplyDeleteSo lovely! It's been a gorgeous autumn this year.
ReplyDeleteThe aspens are gorgeous. We have nothing approaching that golden color around here.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is the crayola of nature. The best season I ponder best with life.
ReplyDeleteThose colourful foliage reminds me of Orange, where we originally lived down under.
The land will have a golden coat and then a white one!

Beautiful colours!!!
ReplyDeleteKisses,

Perfectly inviting. I've never seen a tree full of yello or orange leaves ever in actual. These are some really beautiful photos! Nice shots!

Not much beats blue and yellow. In this area, we don't have the myriad of jeweled colors, but our skies were made for those yellow trees. Gorgeous photos!
ReplyDeleteWonderful autumn photos. I see autumn by you is the same as by us.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is your last photo with yellow trees and that gorgeous sky above.
What beautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteHi Janie, Just wanted to visit to see if you have had snow near your property as yet. I see fall is still in full glory around you. We're making a road trip to Salt Lake late in Nov - hope the weather doesn't get too bad, though we might bring our skis along!
