The Circle of Life

Thank you so much, blogger friends, for the many kind words, thoughts and prayers that you sent our way after Steve's mother's death.
We mourned her passing with family and friends, and celebrated her life as well.  Steve's brother has been choir master at their church for 20 years, and an overflowing choir loft sent forth angelic music in her honor.  Steve, his sister Nancy, and my son Eric shared some special memories.  She would have loved it all.
Above is a photo of Steve, our sons, and Steve's dad.
On the way home, we stopped to visit with my very pregnant daughter.  Soon we will welcome a new baby into our family.  The circle of life goes on.
The photo above is of the Wasatch front with the oaks and maples still sporting the beauty of autumn.  Happy weekend, everyone.

  1. I'm glad you enjoyed the time with your family! I hope Steve's father is doing okay. It must be very hard for him. Looks like you'll have a new grandbaby soon! So exciting!

  2. For every loss, the old saying goes, a new birth arrives. Sorry about the loss, how blessed with the new arrival.

Have a lovely weekend. TTFN ~Marydon

  3. Hi Janie, The circle of life does continue. We're on the road heading back toward TN after attending my brother's Memorial Service in Jacksonville, FL this morning.

My brother was smiling down I'm sure since we sat around and told lots of joyful stories about him and the family. It was truly a celebration,

Great pictures. I love the picture of Steve, his Dad and your two sons. NEAT!!!

    Welcome back. We missed you.

  4. It's weird how that works, that circle. When we were at Gary's mom's funeral, so was her newest great-grandchild only weeks old. Tess looks so cute! Glad you are back.

  5. you are back :)

I'm glad you enjoyed your time with family. Here is a little thought I found.

"I still miss those I loved who are no longer with me
but I find I am grateful for having loved them."

  6. Great pictures as usual, and the one with Steve, your sons and his dad is priceless - that will be a true treasure. Congrats on the soon-to-be grandbaby!!! ♥

  7. It is wonderful news about the baby, Janie. A circle has no beginning and it has no end... God giveth and taketh away.

I hope you and Steve have a nice weekend.

  8. It's so true about the circle of life, sad but true. It sounds like the service was a beautiful celebration of her life *Hugs*

  9. Welcome back! It's always best and the most healing when a service is a celebration as well as a time for mourning. Great picture of Steve with his dad and the boys, and you must be excited about the upcoming grandbaby!

    As usual, gorgeous photos!

  10. I'm glad you come back here.I am worrying about Steve and you (and your family). It might take much time to take on the reality of lost and overcome tragety.

And you have wonderful family!! Great for you!!

take care and have a nice Sunday!

  11. That circle of life...it gets me everytime. I am glad you were able to have a nice sendoff for her, as I am sure she deserved this and enjoyed seeing all of you celebrating her life.
    Congrats on the new baby.
    take care, Suz

  12. You must be so excited about the new baby on the way. I'm sure that little one is gonna bring lots of needed joy into your lives. The pictures are beautiful, Janie!

  13. We had our family photos taken today on that very mountain. I can attest that the colors are indeed amazing.

Here's hoping for healing and adjustment for everyone, especially Steve's Dad.

  14. Beautiful country ... and family. Time flies and there never seems to be enough time, but then I look at the minute hands on the clock and sometimes they moved so slowly!

  15. so sorry to hear about her death and like you say the circle of life is never ending.... Your daughter is beautiful... do they know what she is having?
And yes we had a fairly good time in Utah although if there is a recession we certainly didn't see it there. Bumper to Bumper people at Zion.

  16. my heartfelt condolences to steve and all bereaved...

  17. I am sorry for your loss.

    Your daughter looks absolutely beautiful!

  18. What a beautiful family you have. In so many ways.

  19. Thanks for sharing your celebration of a good life. My condolences to Steve: in keeping and sharing memories of a loved one, they continue to live with us.

  20. This blog makes me teary eyed at the mention of Steve's Mom's passing away and the choir. I bet the song sound angelically heavenly.

Congratulations to your daughter's coming new addition. I will be one too!
