Framed

This was taken in mid-September on Cottonwood Ridge above Indian Canyon (south of Duchesne, Utah).  I was trying to be artsy.
Unfortunately, neither Steve nor Boss cooperated long enough for multiple shots.  (It's really hard to get those guys to be still!)
This is from the same ride, looking toward the long line of skirted hills known as the Bad Land Cliffs.

  10. I love those shots- they ARE artsy!

I may be having some Uthappytrails-esque photos on my blog next week as we're taking off with our kids for Capitol Reef in a few hours. We'll stay in Greg's Dad's weekend house in Meadow tonight then off for the wilds of Utah's best kept secret. Woot Woo!

Of course, our hiking pictures will be with kids rather than horses. I suspect your horses are better behaved!

  25. Great job Done!
the 1st shot is really first!

Capturing the subject from the back of a dry tree is a brilliant idea indeed.

    Great job I repeat!

  27. Great sky watch; very "arty"! The picture frame is perfect; I love old trees past their best but still standing sentinel, so very attractive. Janie, thank you for your comments.

  28. Real cowboy shots. I love them. The only difference is that in the films they don't wear these orange garments!
