Hide and Seek

This buck was looking right at us, but he seemed to think he was hidden.  He did have pretty good camouflage in the shade.
The deer trio knew they'd been spotted and they weren't hanging around for photo ops.  It's amazing how effortlessly the doe jumped the fence.

  1. The hiding rule usually is if you can see them, they can usually see you, especially out in the open. (Didn't that buck read the manual!)

  2. You got a great picture of the buck, Janie... I saw one (not as big as yours) in the back of our house last week a couple of times ---but didn't have my camera handy either time... Darn!!!!!

Deer really can run --when they have to, can't they????

  3. Haha, you can't see me! That was cute. I am always amazed when deer jump the fence the way they do. I wish I could do that.

  4. Stags definitely look better in the wild. As a child I was always horrified and slightly disturbed by the mounted stag skull, complete with fake horns, that accessorized our hallway.

  11. What a handsome buck! Maybe his idea of hiding and ours are different. And the doe jumps with such grace. The human made obstacles are probably their biggest challenge.
