More Desert Bounty

Primrose.
Globemallow.
Phlox nestled in the arms of prickly pear cactus.
Serviceberry blooms.
Claret cup cactus buds will open soon.
Indian rice grass from last autumn remains to provide forage as the spring grasses mature.

  1. My favorite are the claret cup cactus buds, looking like jewels. All are wondrous exquisite specimens, beautiful images from which to learn to identify these plants.

  8. I have enjoyed being out in our southern California deserts photographing the wild flowers this season. The desert primrose is one of my favorites, along with the claret cactus. Your captures are very nice!
