Touring in Tabby

During the Christmas holidays, we had several nice ski tours.  One was in the Tabby Mountain Wilderness Management Area, where we often ride in spring and fall.
Our son and Daisy were ready to go. We saw plenty of elk and deer tracks, so Daisy's nose was in high gear right away.
The fresh, powdery snow made a swishing sound as we skied.  We followed the outline of a two-track, and much of it was untouched,
with lovely views of mountains and sky.

  1. One thing I regret about living in my climate is that we can't hardly ever cross-country ski. It looks like you had some beautiful weather for it -- that blue sky and mountains are gorgeous!

  4. What a great way to spend a day. It looks like the weather was perfect. Fun to have Daisy and son along for company. I'm jealous. That's what I'd be doing today if I'd been able to get an earlier start. Maybe tomorrow...

  9. The woods are so open to see through. We have dense black spruce so you can see far. I'm beginning to think you are the only ones who get out in the wilderness of Utah! Just beautiful.

  10. I have never skied, Janie, but I always wanted to (just like I wanted to fly an airplane). Maybe in another lifetime.... Sigh!!!

Looks like you all got some great exercise and saw some beautiful scenery along the way. Gorgeous!!!

  29. Nice! Glad you got out for a tour. I often fall into an aerobic skiing rhythm, so it's to ski with others who slow down and appreciate the day.
