During the Christmas holidays, we had several nice ski tours. One was in the Tabby Mountain Wilderness Management Area, where we often ride in spring and fall.
Our son and Daisy were ready to go. We saw plenty of elk and deer tracks, so Daisy's nose was in high gear right away.
The fresh, powdery snow made a swishing sound as we skied. We followed the outline of a two-track, and much of it was untouched,
with lovely views of mountains and sky.

One thing I regret about living in my climate is that we can't hardly ever cross-country ski. It looks like you had some beautiful weather for it -- that blue sky and mountains are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great workout in such beautiful scenery!
ReplyDeleteThat last picture is absolutely gorgeous. I love the mountains and the blue sky. You must have enjoyed the outing as much as Daisy did.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend a day. It looks like the weather was perfect. Fun to have Daisy and son along for company. I'm jealous. That's what I'd be doing today if I'd been able to get an earlier start. Maybe tomorrow...
ReplyDeletebeautiful place to ski....
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot of ski area. There could not be another nice way to spend the day in winter.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you get out and go no matter whether on hores back, ski or on foot. I haven't seen you bike yet.
ReplyDeleteLovely winter shots. Gorgeous with that blue sky.
ReplyDeleteThe woods are so open to see through. We have dense black spruce so you can see far. I'm beginning to think you are the only ones who get out in the wilderness of Utah! Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI have never skied, Janie, but I always wanted to (just like I wanted to fly an airplane). Maybe in another lifetime.... Sigh!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all got some great exercise and saw some beautiful scenery along the way. Gorgeous!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
Looks like a fun day and something I always wanted to try. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteThe visibility looks awesome so I can imagine the views were spectacular with that BLUE sky.
ReplyDeleteFantastic captures, Janie, as always! And it does look as though you all had a great time. I bet Daisy was in hog heaven! Love those blue skies to go with the snow!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week!
Sylvia
Perhaps this is what I need to get me to the train station in the morning!

There's nothing quite so magical as sun and snow!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful sunny day! Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your snowy trek on a sunny day ... and a 'zoned out' Daisy in your 'z' post too ;-)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Nice! Glad you got out for a tour. I often fall into an aerobic skiing rhythm, so it's to ski with others who slow down and appreciate the day.
