When we took our first trip west, back in 1974, we were amazed by the incredible deep blue of the skies here.
I must admit, we've never gotten over our amazement in just looking at that gorgeous color, but the vastness we've discovered as we explore Utah's public lands has been just as amazing.
These photos were taken on a hike near the Green River last week.

Great photos, you can really feel how big everything is including that patch of blue sky. Thanks for sharing with us all in Sky Watch Friday.
ReplyDeleteI am with you totally. I wish I could explore more of the west too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots, the second one is definately my favourite. What I would do to go for a hike at that location.

some times we don't realize how much of our great land is sparsely settled...and that makes visiting all the different parts that make up our country exciting.
ReplyDeleteenjoyed your beautiful captures.

Gorgeous! You have such an eye for what is noteworthy! One of my favorite things is that perfectly blue sky that makes one think all is right in the world...

ReplyDeleteLooks like a great area to take a hike.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a beautiful place, and your photos are lovely. The blue sky looks like it has a violet tint to it. Is that a trick of the camera or how it looks for real?
ReplyDeleteJanice.

Dontcha hate those contrails messing up a perfect blue bird sky? Oh well, you are so right about falling in love with this place. Most days, I wake up feeling like Georgia O'Keefe must have felt when she found herself in the amazing light of Taos...
ReplyDeleteJust catching up on your last few posts. Such stunning beauty all around you, and it not lost to people as observant as you are. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Just love these SW blue skies. Nothing else like them.
ReplyDeleteReally nice shots all three.
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful photos !!
ReplyDeleteI like how you've captured the jet contrail, in the last one.. those people in that jet, just didn't realise what they were missing down below :-)
I like them all though ! :-)
