Strawberry Narrows

We started out on the southern shore of Strawberry Reservoir.
The Strawberry narrows trail is designated as hiking/biking/horsebackriding.  The views of the lake are pretty.
As we rode about 6 miles down the narrow, winding trail, we worried a little about running into a biker, perhaps literally.
So, on our way back, we followed a ravine up a few hundred feet and found a great little 2 track through the aspen.  That made a safer horse trail.
As we reached the gravel road leading to the marina, we saw this sign.  Anybody have a few million dollars to spare?   You could build your dream summer home up there.

  4. Gotta love those orange-leafed aspens! Looks like a perfect place for a trail ride. We had gusty winds today and all our aspen leaves are on the ground.

  5. This would be a beautiful area for a home, but it's a little (okay, a lot) out of our price range. The lake views are gorgeous.

  6. Riding horses is of course totally different from trail running. I have more problems with bikes coming up from behind that coming at me head on.

Something about wealthy people taking over the land in the west irks me, but then the people who own it now should get the value of it. Don't know the answer.

  7. Those multiple use trails are scary no matter which you are. I don't like to be run over by bikes. But sure is a pretty lake. Sorry, can't afford 500 acres.

  8. What a gorgeous place, and I love those orange-leaf aspen! Boss looks like he's appreciating the view in the first image. The picture of Steve, Boss, and Daisy walking the ravine looks like a museum piece!

  9. What a gorgeous area....I imagine the mounting biking folks would enjoy this area as well.
I'm going to put a down payment on that property. Sadly, I'll only be able to 'camp' on it though!! :)

  13. Beautiful views and colors. Of course being part of the 53% I could cash in a few item on my vast portfolio and buy those 500 acres. I'll think about it...:)

  14. love the fiery orange/red aspens. years ago when I was around aspens I never paid much attention - do the same trees turn the same orange/red colors every year? or are they sometimes yellow?
