Footprints in the Sand

Driving home through the San Rafael desert, we see a vast emptiness of sand.  In the distance, the Henry Mountains peak above the horizon.  Some person or animal forged a path across the dunes.  If we had more time, we could follow and see where the trails lead.

  1. Maybe next time? Those footprints will be gone but there will be others.

  2. I love the way the wind leaves such beautiful designs in the sand.

  4. I think it would be fascinating to see where those footprints lead (or came from). Your picture of the sand dunes is marvelous, as is your header.

  5. A shot like this always finds me gazing and making up a story. The light and ripples are wonderful as are the mystery tracks.

  6. How cool it would be to follow a track across the desert, where there is no foliage or water to cover them up - though I suppose wind could still make them disappear in the blink of an eye!

  16. I would be scared to follow! It looks like the Primrose path- Desert style! In other words, it looks like the opening scene from the tv show "I Shouldn't Be Alive". That show always starts off with one unfortunate decision that snowballs! Very cool photo.
