First Light

The best thing about trailer camping between rides is the morning light.
The horses, tied on a highline, get restless just before dawn.
The birds start to sing.  And we climb out of our gooseneck bed to see the sunrise.
Some days the clouds reflect more color, but always it's glorious.
On the mountains, light inches down from the peaks.
In the canyons, dusk gives way to morning.

  1. Oh Wow.... Anyone who sees these pictures has to love the thoughts of being out there in nature --away from the hustle and bustle in life... I love the beach --and I love finding waterfalls back in the mountains... BUT--waking up to the beauty around you has to be the ULTIMATE.... Thanks for sharing such beauty.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  8. What a lovely post! I enjoyed every word of it. And, the pics, too. That is also one of my favorite things about horse camping -- the way they wake you up at the crack of dawn, calling for their breakfast.

It's a great pleasure to travel with you from the safe of my living room.
Your last composition, looking down in the canyon is very refreshing.

  15. Utah is the most under-rated state ever! Just as many sleeping people miss the beauty of a morning sunrise, Utah also goes unnoticed by many travelers. Beautiful pictures.
