Summer in the High Country

July 20, 2005
Black's Fork, High Uinta Wilderness, Utah.
Indian paintbrush in the foreground:
This hanging valley is about 10,000 feet, well above the level of Blacks Fork. From a distance, we saw a herd of elk resting on the snow at the upper end of the valley.

We'll plan a trip somewhere in the High Uintas this summer. Can't wait!

  4. The sky is brilliant, nature is beautiful, your horses are wonderful, your dog is easygoing and your family (as well as people in general) seem very nice. Utah is quite the place!

    Warm greetings from West Africa,
    Esther

  15. Great photo on the top with the wildflower in the foreground, and the panoramic really paints the full picture. It's the one thing we miss in Florida: mountains ... and water falls (that's two).

  29. A great place. To me you are living in a perpetiual holiday scenery. I think of John Steinbeck how he would describe this fantastic nature. He would find the most wonderful words.
